LFT-päivät Turussa 12-13.2.2026

Lääketieteellisen fysiikan ja tekniikan päivien eli LFT-päivien ideana on aktivoida uusia nuoria jäseniä yhdistykseen sekä parantaa tutkimuksen ja opetuksen yhteistyömahdollisuuksia tuomalla eri paikkakuntien tutkimusta ja opiskelijoita yhteen. Tapahtumassa järjestetään yhdistyksen alaan kuuluvien vuonna 2025 tehtyjen diplomi- ja pro gradu -töiden posterinäyttely, jossa paras / parhaat posterit palkitaan. Palkintosumma on 2025 EUR, joka voidaan antaa yhdelle tai jakaa N:n henkilön kesken. Posterinäyttelyyn voivat lähettää abstrakteja vuonna 2025 lääketieteellisen fysiikan tai tekniikan alalta lopputyönsä tehneet / valmistuneet henkilöt. Posteri voi olla joko suomen- tai englanninkielinen. Tapahtumassa on opiskelijoiden lopputöiden lisäksi suullisia esityksiä sekä paikallisilta tutkijoilta että kansallisilta / kansainvälisiltä yrityksiltä. Yrityksiä on tyypillisesti ilmoittautunut mukaan pari kymmentä. Suullisissa esityksissä kerrotaan paikallisesta lääketieteellisen fysiikan ja tekniikan tutkimuksesta ja esitellään alalla toimivia yrityksiä. Pro gradu- ja diplomityöpostereiden lisäksi järjestäjät toivovatkin paikalle opetus- ja tutkimuslaitosten ja tutkijakoulujen omia esitteitä / esittelypostereita. Samoin alan yritysten esittelypisteet ovat tervetulleita. Järjestäjät toivovat paikalle runsasta osanottoa.

Diplomi- ja pro gradu -töiden abstraktien deadline ja lähetyslinkki julkistetaan tammikuussa. Linkki abstraktipohjaan alempana.

Väitöskirjatutkijaesityksiä toisena päivänä

• Vuonna 2026 järjestämme LFT-päivät kaksipäiväisenä tapahtumana. Toinen päivä, perjantai, on omistettu tohtoritutkimuksen (tohtoriopiskelijoiden) esityksille
• Voit lähettää tiivistelmän tieteellisen komitean arvioitavaksi; tiivistelmät valitaan suulliseen tai juliste-esitykseen
• Käytä Proceedings-kirjalle tehtyä Abstraktipohjaa (alempana)
• Suulliset esitykset kestävät 12 minuuttia (9 min esitys + 3 min keskustelua)
• Deadline (julkistetaan myöhemmin).

Paras paperi 2025 -kilpailu

• Järjestämme LFT-päivillä parhaan paperin kilpailun, jossa on saatavilla arvokkaita palkintoja.
• lähettävän kirjoittajan on oltava paperin ensisijainen kirjoittaja (ensimmäinen kirjoittaja tai toinen, jos kontribuutio on yhtä suuri)

LFT Days in Turku in 12-13.2.2026

The aim of the Medical Physics and Technology Days, or LFT Days, is to activate new young members to the association and to improve research and teaching collaboration opportunities by bringing research and students from different locations together. At the event, a poster exhibition of diploma and master's theses completed in 2025 within the association's field will be organized, where the best poster(s) will be awarded. The prize amount is 2025 EUR, which can be given to one person or divided between N people. Abstracts can be sent to the poster exhibition by persons who completed their final work/graduated in the field of medical physics or technology in 2025. The poster can be in either Finnish or English. In addition to students' theses, the event includes oral presentations from both local researchers and national/international companies. Typically, around twenty companies have signed up. Oral presentations tell about local medical physics and engineering research and introduce companies operating in the field. In addition to master's degree and diploma thesis posters, the organizers hope to have their own brochures / presentation posters of teaching and research institutes and graduate schools. Likewise, presentation points from companies in the field are welcome. The organizers hope for a large turnout.

PhD work presentations on the second day

• In 2026, we organize LFT Days as a two-day event. The second day, Friday, is dedicated to PhD work (PhD students) presentations
• You can submit an abstract to be evaluated by scientific committee; abstracts will be selected for oral or poster presentation
• Please use the Abstract template for the Proceedings (link below)
• Oral presentations will be 12 minutes (9 min presentation + 3 min discussion)
• Deadline of PhD presentations TBA.

Best paper 2025 competition

• We organize a best paper competition with precious awards at the LFT days.
• submitting author must be a primary author of the paper (1st author, or 2nd if equal contribution)

  Guidelines for poster presentation

  Please prepare a poster of your master's thesis work preferably in English with size A0 (portrait orientation). In the poster competition, each participant will give a max 3-minute presentation of their work. Presentations are given in power-pitch format with presentation slides in the auditorium, after which the jury and the audience can ask 1-3 questions. Presentations are encouraged to be held in English, but Finnish is also allowed. Both presentations and posters are evaluated for the competition.

  The jury will grade each presentation based on:

  • Oral presentation, in particular clarity and not exceeding the time limit
  • Poster design and clarity (see below)
  • Scientific significance and impact

  Here are some tips for preparing the poster:

  • Structure your presentation (e.g., Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion).
  • Minimize the amount of detail in the poster. Present key ideas and main results that can be understood with quick scanning of the poster.
  • Think about your target audience. Explain key terms and abbreviations clearly.
  • Prefer clear graphics over text whenever possible.
  • Use font size that is legible from a distance of at least 3 meters.
  • Avoid tiny details in illustrations. Clip the figures to show only the essential. The details of the figures should be observable also from a distance of at least 3 meters.
